Himachal Pradesh historic sites

Heritage sites in Himachal Pradesh (Derivative work on Wikimedia Commons image)
Cradled in the lap of the western Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh is a
treasure trove of sacred stone and living legends. Its valleys and mountain tops are dotted with ancient Hindu temples carved into rock faces and perched on misty ridges—sites like Baijnath, Masroor, and the towering Bhimakali Temple.

Himachal is also home to Vedic era sites, Buddhist monasteries in Lahaul-Spiti, and spurs of the Silk Road that connected Tibet to India. It is home to over 100 historic sites.
