Odisha is a coastal state of India in the east. It is ancient India's jewel of arts and architecture, one that launched many ships from Kalinga ports that shared wealth, ideas and culture with southeast Asia.

Odisha is home to over 200 historic sites with Hindu, Jain and Buddhist themes. These sites include artwork that are windows into Indian civilization from 3rd century BCE to modern era.

This sun-drenched state, hugging the Bay of Bengal includes masterpieces such as the 13th-century Konark Sun Temple, a chariot-shaped marvel dedicated to Surya; the Jagannath Temple in Puri, pulsing with artwork and devotion; and the galaxy of Bhubaneswar temples. Odisha also has the Buddhist monasteries and Jain caves that are nearly 2000 years old.
